MathGate Privacy Policy

Effective July 2, 2026

MathGate (“the app”) is a parental control app developed by Eric Fortuna.

Data collection: none

MathGate does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The app has no server, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.

What stays on the device

App-blocking selections (opaque tokens provided by Apple’s Screen Time system that the developer cannot read), parent settings (problem types, difficulty, streak length, unlock duration), a one-way hash of the parent PIN, and the current unlock timer. This information never leaves the device.

Screen Time technology

MathGate uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks. Apple designed these so apps like MathGate can block and unblock apps without ever learning which apps a family uses. We will never sell, use, or disclose to third parties any data related to parental controls, consistent with App Store guidelines.

Children’s privacy

Because MathGate collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children (COPPA / GDPR-K compliant by design).
